Due to competitor change in circumstances, SPW unexpectedly has a limited number of charity places remaining to take part in the Mazda London Triathlon at the ExCel Centre on 9th and 10th August 2008.

This is fantastic event in which over 40,000 competitors take part, ranging from total first-timers to serious tri-atheletes, and with races ranging from 'super sprint distances (400m open water swim; 10km run; 2.5km run) through to 'sprint' (750m swim; 20km bike; 5km run) and olympic distances (1500m swim; 40km bike; 10km run) there's something for everyone!

The Mazda London Triathlon has an atmosphere to rival the London Marathon and with a fantastic free-to-enter expo at the finish line, it makes a wonderful day out for friends and family too! Entries close on 19th July 2008 and competitors are asked to fundraise a minimum of £550, with full support from SPW. For more information, please see www.thelondontriathlon.co.uk

Ex- Vol in Jail Break

Pete Stephens an ex-vol from India 2006 and Tim Keevil - both Bristol University students - recently came up with a very novel fundraising idea - a 'Jail Break'. The challenge is get as far as possible for your starting point in a set time, without spending any money. Last year they got from London to Poland in 36hrs without spending a penny of their own money!

Building on this success, this year they set themselves the challenge of getting from Westminster to Singapore in 6 weeks - entirely for free! SPW are delighted to announce that the boys successfully completed their challenge - with several adventures along the way - and are now back home. Particular thanks must go to STA travel who were wonderfully supportive, generously donating 2 free flights to enable the boys to get to India. SPW would like to express their thanks to STA for their generous support of this fundraising event.

Five in Drive for Life - Africa2Ormond (A20)

Georgina Cowley - an ex-SPW vol with her university friends will be departing from South Africa in September and making the 25,000 mile journey up to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in a bid to raise multi-cultural awareness. A2O will donate the money raised to Student Partnership Worldwide, Great Ormond Street and Hope and Homes for Children.
